Baked A Cake

Dear Ethan

You have been making some progress with "completing an assigned task". You used to not be able to sit down to do things like Lego or a puzzle. As usual, mommy continued offering them to you and tried different ways to make them interesting. For example, Uncle Benny said mommy should read you a story with more drama (dramatic reading). You enjoyed and loved it so much you could sit down listening to mommy read a few of your faovurge books - at least 2.

Last night, we came back from dinner at Kampachi in Pavilion and you chose a few toys to play. Mommy is very proud of you for completing all of it without leaving your seat. You did really well too!

Tonight, we did these same activities again and you even kept all of it into their own IKEA bags.

After that, we played a bit of Lego. Mommy wanted to train your imagination and fine motor skills, which Teacher Tee said needs more attention to. You were very creative.

You told mommy that you were baking a cake. Then you asked mommy to pour tomato sauce (your current favorite sauce) on your cake. After that, you went round the house carrying you "cake" while singing the Pat A Cake song, asking Daddy and Aunty Lyn to take a bite ☺️

Mommy  take a video and many photos of you doing a new task or achieving a milestone but this time, you told mommy to stop!

Food Diary

IDear Evan
Mommy has been really happy to see you eat. You love food much more than Koko Ethan. Mommy has been practicing the Baby-Led weaning method with you hoping that you would not lose interest in eating and will grow up to eat much variety of food.

There has been ups and downs. Sometimes you would eat a lot, sometimes you don't. Your favorite vegetable used to be broccoli and now you reject any greens except Japanese beans. You love any yummy food that taste good especially sweet fruits like banana and grapes!

Today, mommy asked Aunty Lyn to fry sausages and an egg for you but since it tasted a bit sourish (not sure if it should taste this way) so mommy put it a side and Aunty Lyn said she would finish it.

Mommy then let you try eating yogurt by yourself with very minimal guidance from me. You did well ☺️ but look at your face!

Dragon fruit has also been one of your favorites. You only dislike strawberries so far because they are sour ☺️

I love seeing you eat, my darling.

Tantrum

Dear Evan

You have never been a good sleeper since young. At 1.3 age now, you would still wake up almost every other hour whenever you're teething. In terms of food, you have started to ignore the greens including broccoli which used to be your favorite. Mommy is getting a little worried. But we will try to keep train you on that.

Your tantrums have also become bad. You are very persistent and know what you want at a very young age. You cry really long and loud. Just the other day, the old Aunty staying behind our house complained that you cried really long and loud. She was concerned.

No matter what, mommy and daddy love you for who you are. We always want the best for you.

Teacher Tee Said

Dear Ethan

Mommy went to collect your report card from Teacher Tee on the 20th of Novembef 2015.

Teacher Tee said you did well with recognizing alphabets and numbers from 1-10 but with some occasional misses.

However the main concern was that you refuse to hold the pencil and do worksheets by yourself. Mommy was very worried that you would not be able to cope with the rest of the curriculum in school - homework and all. Daddy too. But he said that we should give you more time.

Mommy even spoke to some friends, grandma and Aunty Mei Toon, who is a psychologist to get some ideas but they all said not to worry. You will develop that and eventually learn how to write at your own pace.

Mommy hope you will work hard and get to write and enjoy coloring some day.

So, for the year end holiday, mommy and daddy decided to still send you for the Gymboree big-boy class. You will cry every single time we leave you but you would be so happy during and at the end of the class. We hope you get to exercise more of your fine motor skills and learn how to be more patient.

You also brought home this art piece from your Kinder Cooking class from Kindy. You said you made ice-cream and chocolate biscuit 😊 but you only ate 1 little grape from the cone. You're still too picky with food!

No Naps 😥

Both of you didn't nap today but we had lots of fun.
It was KorKor Ethan's second time attending the big boy class at Gymboree where he attended all 3 classes - Play, Art and Music, all by himself. Mommy and daddy was very proud of him. When we arrived at the center to pick KorKor up, mommy peeped through the door and saw KorKor painting with a toothbrush and putting little green colored papers on his art. Teacher said he painted a tree!

Evan and Aunty Lyn both joined mommy and daddy at our usual mamak joint for breakfast outside Bangsar Village. Evan shared a tosai with mommy and finished a banana. And later on in the day, Evan had a tummy ache. Daddy said its because of the banana. 😳

Look at Evan eating so happily!

After breakfast, while waiting for KorKor Ethan to finish his class, daddy brought us to the indoor playground in Bangsar Village. Evan saw a little girl drinking Ribenna from a box, he walked up to her wanting to grab it! 🙊 of course, we stopped Evan just in time.
